In this document it will be explained how to connect cash drawer and how to setup necessary configurations on\u00a0 SambaPOS V5. To perform process in this document, it is necessary to have a cash drawer and a printer.<\/p>\n

How to Connect Cash Drawer?<\/h2>\n

Cash drawers run by plugging and by giving command to the printer. RC11 phone cable is necessary to make connection. Plug RC11 cable of cash drawer to the jack which nearby the ethernet jack of printer.<\/p>\n

Configuring SambaPOS Setup<\/h2>\n

After connecting cash drawer to printer, configure the settings for SambaPOS.<\/p>\n

In the example it will be shown two different practices. For the first practice, create an automation command, add into payment screen and trigger it manually. For the second one; configure the settings in the way that clicking on any payment button will open cash drawer automatically.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Adding Printer Template<\/h2>\n

First of all, connect cash drawer to ticket printer because of it is seen as printer by SambaPOS. You need to create a template for it. Go to Manage > Printing > Printer Templates<\/strong> from here click on Add Printer Template<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

  • Template Name: <\/strong>Write a proper name for template. (In the example; Cash Drawer Template)<\/li>\n
  • Merge Lines: <\/strong>Select Don’t Merge template.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Template: <\/strong>Write\u00a0<XCT>27,112,0,25,250 command. This command suits 90% of cash drawers. If it doesn’t\u00a0 suit, check user manuel of the printer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After completing necessary fields, click on Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

    Adding Print Job<\/h2>\n

    Go to Manage > Printing > Print Jobs<\/strong> from here click on Add Print Job<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

    • Print Job Name:<\/strong>\u00a0Write the name of print job. (In the example; Cash Drawer Print Job)<\/li>\n
    • Print Content:<\/strong>\u00a0Select All Lines template.<\/li>\n
    • Printing Maps > Add: <\/strong>Add a mapping line. In this line;\n

      • Printer Column: <\/strong>Select related printer. (In the example; Ticket Printer)<\/li>\n
      • Printer Template Column: <\/strong>Select related printer template. (In the example; Cash Drawer Template)\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        After completing necessary fields, click on\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

        Adding Action<\/h2>\n

        Go to Manage > Automation > Actions<\/strong> from here click on Add Action<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

          Adding Automation Command<\/h2>\n

          Go to Manage > Automation > Automation Commands<\/strong> from here click on Add Automation Command<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

          General Settings Section;<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Button Header:<\/strong>\u00a0In this field write Cash<Br\/>Drawer.<\/li>\n
          • Color:<\/strong>\u00a0Field to select color for the button.<\/li>\n
          • Execute Once:<\/strong>\u00a0Activate this box.<\/li>\n
          • Clear Selection: <\/strong>Activate this box.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Mappings Section;<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Add a line in mappings section, select Payment for Visibility Column. (It is possible to select other fields as well according to need)<\/p>\n

            After completing necessary fields, click on\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

            Adding Rule<\/h2>\n

            Go to Manage > Automation > Rules<\/strong> from here click on Add Rule<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

            • Event Name:<\/strong>\u00a0Select Automation Command Executed template.<\/li>\n

            • Actions > Select Action: <\/strong>Select related action which was created on previous step. (In the example; Cash Drawer Print Action)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              After completing necessary fields, click on\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

              To check the process, take order by opening a ticket from POS screen and click on settle button. Cash Drawer button will appear on the payment page.<\/p>\n

              For the second practice, it is necessary to add rule in order to open the cash drawer\u00a0automatically by clicking on any payment button.<\/p>\n

                After completing necessary fields, click on\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

                To check the process, take order by opening a ticket from POS screen and click on settle button. If you click on Settle button, cash drawer will be opened automatically.<\/p>\n
